The choices are plentiful, and I am very glad I chose Gavalas Winery during my stay on the island. Our visit was during the low season in October, and it was relatively easy to book a table here. We tried a few assyrtiko wines (blue bottle, naturally fermented, nychteri) a couple of rarer wines (a red - mavrotragano, and a white - katsano), and a sweet vinsento.

The last trip of our three winery tour was held at Santo wines on a beautiful cliff - lookout that provides a fantastic view over the island.
